The Swiss system of pension provision is founded on three pillars. This system is the basis for social security and is embedded in the Federal Constitution. The aim of the system is to maintain the individual's accustomed standard of living in the event of old age, disability and death.
The Galenica Pension Fund offers its participants comprehensive protection against the economic consequences of old age, disability and death within the framework of the second pillar. The benefits are set out in the pension regulations and exceed the minimum benefits according to the Swiss Federal Act on Occupational Retirement, Survivors' and Disability Pension Plans (BVG).
Each participant receives an updated insurance certificate once a year (which is sent out around mid-February with an effective date of 31 January). If there are any changes as a result of changes in salary, the receipt of vested benefits, an early withdrawal in order to purchase residential property, etc., we will send participants an updated insurance certificate in each case.
